Reference is made in the 1926 Class Notes to Dr. Ernest L. Stebbins '26, newly appointed Commissioner of Health of New York City. Dr. Stebbins is on the staff of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University, and was, at one time, Assistant Commissioner of the (N. Y.) State Department of Health.

He has had extensive experience in the field of public health, having been epidemiologist of the Virginia State Department of Health, health officer of Henrico County, Va., epidemiologist for the N. Y. State Department of Health, and director of the division of communicable diseases for the same department. He has written several books on public health and is co-author of the communicable disease section of TheNelson Loose-Leaf System of Medicine.
