THE SUMMER SEASON comes to a close with more news of Dartmouth men of Long Island in service. The men folks of the Coulson family of Garden City have all entered the armed forces, now that Wm. H. Coulson Sr., hon. '18, has been commissioned a Major in the Army Specialist Corps in Washington. Son, Bill Coulson Jr. '40, is an Air Cadet station in Ontario, Cal., and son, Jack Coulson '39, received his Ensign commission and took his June bride to Miami Beach, Fla., where he is finishing his training. Three loyal Americans and Dartmouth men.

Word has been received that Doctor Irv. Kramer '32 of Great Neck has also received his commission, and is now active in the Armed Forces; and that Ed Schuster '30 has been commissioned Lieutenant in the Navy.

The Secretary received a post card from Bill Thomas '30, stating that he was finishing his schooling as an Air Cadet and was enjoying a furlough at Miami Beach, Fla.

Members of the Long Island Association were shocked to hear of the death of Thomas H. Towers '36 in August. Tom died after an operation in a New York hospital. He will certainly be missed by his friends. Our sympathy to his family.

Due to the rationing and war conditions in general, the executive committee of the L. I. Club has been reluctant to plan a Fall party. However any change in plans will be passed on to the Dartmouth men on our mailing list.
