"Sabotage," Hailed as Exciting and Important Book Reveals Full Scope of Fascist Conspiracy

AMERICA, Albert E. Kahn '34 with Mi-chael Snyers. Harper & Brothers, 1942, 266pp. $2.50.

THOSE OF US OLD ENOUGH to remember the last war, and who have been privileged to read A 1 Kahn's confidential news-letter TheHour which is. devoted to investigating and exposing Axis fifth-column activities, will not be overly surprised at the revelations disclosed in this timely and excellent study of German and Japanese terroristic activities in the United States. 1 am glad to say that the Librarians at Baker chose this book as one of their Books of the Hour.

The book, which has fifty or so illustrations of documents and photographs, is divided into two parts: Physical Sabotage and Psychological Sabotage. Nazi agents penetrated into the very halls of Congress, and isolationist senators actually used their franking privileges to distribute wholesale Axis propaganda. One of these will probably be re-elected to the Senate this fall which will buck up the Nazis no end.

Professor Frederick L. Schuman, of Wil liams College, says . this is a magnificent job o£ ferreting out the secret agents of the enemy, along with all their domestic dupes and stooges, and of warning the American people of the kind of war the enemy is waging against them. Sabotage! is as exciting as a de- tective story and as important as a second front. It reveals for the first time the full scope of the Fascist conspiracy against America and discloses, with names, dates, and places, pre- cisely how the foe, with the aid of his native American Fifth Column, is attempting to de- stroy the psychological and physical defenses of the United States." I agree completely and consider this book required reading.
