SEVEN SPECIAL FRESHMEN scholarships have been awarded to entering men from California, Connecticut, Illinois, Michigan, New Hampshire, and Wyoming, it was announced last month by President Hopkins.

Two California Regional Scholarships of $700 each have been given to Louis L. Abbott Jr. of Los Angeles, a graduate of Los Angeles High School, and to Harold S. Bowman of Santa Barbara, a graduate of Santa Barbara High School.

A Connecticut Regional Scholarship of $600 has been awarded to Leon S. Niegelsky of Ansonia, a graduate of Ansonia High School.

An Illinois Regional Scholarship of $600 has been granted to Theodore C. Seiler of Winnetka, a graduate of New Trier Township High School; and a New Hampshire Regional Scholarship of $500 has been awarded to Maurice D. Smith of New Hampton, a graduate of New Hampton School for Boys.

Trustee Scholarships on the Cohen Foundation, awarded to candidates from any area in the United States under the same general terms as the Regionals, have been given to Edward A. Attix of Detroit, Mich., a graduate of Southeastern High School, and to Edward N. Bush of Thermopolis, Wyoming, a graduate of Hot Springs County High School. The twelve Trustee Scholarships established in April 1941 range in value from $500 to $700 and are based on income from the endowment fund left by the late Judge William N. Cohen '79.
