Dr. Roy J. Deferrari '12, Gardiner Professor of Greek and Latin at the Catholic University, Washington, D. C., who has been Secretary General of the University since 1937, was inducted as a Fellow in the Mediaeval Academy of America at its annual meeting in Boston in April. Elected for life and limited to a maximum membership of 50, only 47 scholars who have made notable contribution to the promotion of mediaeval studies are members of the Academy at present.

Dr. Deferrari is editor of the Catholic University Patristic Series (65 volumes) and the Catholic University studies in Mediaeval and Renaissance Latin Language and Literature (13 volumes). He has been the author or co-author of some 30 books and studies in Greek, Latin, mediaeval and modern educational studies. At present he is working on a Latin-English dictionary of St. Thomas Aquinas and a Concordance of the Summa Theologica.
