War Service Advice for Alumni
August 1942

THE MAIN FUNCTION of this bureau in Boston is to advise men where they may best fit into the Army or Navy or elsewhere in the war effort. Sixty men representing eastern colleges form the board of interviewe rs and volunteer their time and services in talking with applicants. Since its inception the Board has interviewed more than 4300 men—mostly between 30 and 45. It is estimated that more than 1000 Dartmouth alumni have taken advantage of the advisory services of the Board which is performing an important function in helping the armed forces locate personnel.

Headquarters of the War Service Advisory Board is the Harvard Club, 374 Commonwealth Avenue, Boston, Tel. Kenmore 1260. Mr. John Shillito, a retired business executive and veteran of the last war, is head of the interviewing board. Arthur T. Soule 'OB, member of the Dartmouth Alumni Council from Boston, is representative of the College on the Board. Dartmouth men should not hesitate in arranging an interview at the Harvard Club if they have any problems whatever regarding any phase of war service. Here they will receive personal attention in securing answers to their questions: "What ran I do What should I do?"
