THE BIGGEST HOUR examination in Dartmouth's history was staged on the evening of August 24 when nearly 1100 trainees taking the course in Naval Organization (N1) assembled in eleven different halls to put their knowledge down on paper. A young army of 23 faculty proctors was also involved in the mammoth midterm test.

Even Webster Hall was used for the exam sections, which were also spread out in 105 Dartmouth, 104 McNutt, 14 Silsby, 106 Steele, 104 Wilder, 310 Wentworth, 103 Carpenter, 13 Carpenter, Tuck Hall, Stell Hall, and Thayer School.
