LAST MONTH THE Class of 1947 demonstrated that improvement in physical abilities is not only possible but to be expected, as it wound up its 12-week program in Physical Education by taking the physical ability test for the second time.
In the July test, the class was below the College average in all events except the standing broad jump. The results of the October test show general improvement in each, event, so that the class averages equaled or bettered all the College averages except in the chin-ups.
Following is a comparison of the College average (listed first) with the July and October averages of the freshman class: Rope climbing, 14.5 5ec.—14.7—13.8.
