THE BEST KNOWN and second oldest of the early prints of the College—a "delineation" by the 11-year-old sophomore George Ticknor, 1807—is being reproduced exactly by hand-colored collotype and will soon be published jointly by the Library, which owns the print, and Dartmouth College Publications.
This reproduction of the principal buildings of Dartmouth College in Ticknor's day will include the original poetic inscription and a matte in black and gold, representing the black matte which Ticknor painted on glass over his print and its gold frame. About 14 by 20 inches over all, it will be enclosed, with a note by Nathaniel L. Goodrich, librarian, in a folder. The price will be between three and five dollars.
