THE OLD CROWD, hardly a "crowd" now, continues to gather for the monthly dinners. We have known each other so well and so long that our informal meetings are like family reunions. The event of an evening is the appearance of a new recruit, who is greeted with great enthusiasm. So, at our last meeting in October, a warm welcome was given to Al Hailparn '24, who is serving on the staff of the U. 5.0., and he seemed equally glad to see us. We have learned with great regret of the loss of another fine Baltiboy, Lieut. George C. Westerlind '43, whose death in action in the S. W. Pacific has been reported by the Navy Department. George Parkhurst '30 has enlisted in the Army. Cadet Henry Hastings '39 was sent to Gunter Field, Montgomery, Ala. in October for basic flight training as pilot in the Army Air Force. His wife, Barbara, recently stopped over in Baltimore on her way to Montgomery.

The Dartmouth alumni in Baltimore hope that Service men and others coming to this vicinity will make their presence known. For information as to meetings and addresses of local alumni call the Secretary, Harold R. Hastings, during business hours at U.S.F. & G. Cos., Telephone Lexington 0380, at other times at his home, 146 W. Lanvale St., Telephone Madison 2893-J. HAROLD R. HASTINGS 'OO.
