Eric P. Kelly '06. Frederick A. Stokes Company 1943, 72p. $2.

This is an informative book on Poland, for boys and girls. It describes the land, its people, their occupations and customs, and, most delightfully, their legends. It has one feature which ought to be copied by every adult travel book: at the end of each chapter, there is a pronunciation table of the principal names. (How could one be expected to know that Lowicz is Wovvitch?) It is brief, completely readable, and beautifully illustrated with modern photographs. It should be in every school library.

Mr. Robert E. Bannon is the author of an article entitled The Diagnostic and Therapeutic Use of Monocular Occlusion, which appears in the October issue of the AmericanJournal of Optometry.

Dr. H. M. Burian is the author of A VisualPhenomenon Related to Binocular Triplopia, which appears in the October issue of the American Journal of Ophthalmology.

Layman's Guide to Naval Strategy, by Professor Bernard Brodie, has recently been published in England at the Oxford UniversityPress. A third revised edition of this book will appear in this country very shortly. A second edition, which has been revised, of Professor Brodie's Sea Power in the Machine Age has just been issued.
