On january 14 the Bethlehem-Sparrows Point Shipyard of Baltimore, launched its first complete ship of 1943, the tanker "Dartmouth." Named for the Earl of Dartmouth and for Dartmouth College, the ship is the sixth in a group of thirteen tankers being built by the company under a contract with the Maritime Commission. The "Dartmouth" was sponsored by Mrs. Bulkley S. Griffin, of Washington.
