AWAH HOO WAH for Judge Collins! The big news for the Dartmouth Club of Long Island during the month of January was the appointment of Henry J. A. Collins, Class of 1918 (Harry, to us), to the important position of County Judge of Nassau County by Governor Thomas E. Dewey of New York State. Judge Collins was sworn in by his predecessor, Supreme Court Justice C. A. Johnson in the presence of all the Big Wigs of Nassau County, including County Executive Russell Sprague and Judge Samuel Seabury and others. Dink Miller '21, Ed Warnke '19 and Jigger Pender '97 represented the Dartmouth Club at the installation. Judge Collins served as President of the Long Island Club in 1941 and we are indeed proud of our Past President. CONGRATULATIONS HARRY!
Due to transportation difficulties our annual meeting, scheduled for January 15, 1943, had to be postponed until better conditions permit. President Ruddy Preuss '27 announces that the 1942 officers will carry on until further notice.
Added to our list of men in service, it is reported that George McMillen '21 has been commissioned in the Navy, along with Lieutenant (j.g.) Wm. Jessup '30. For the Army, we report that Orten Hicks '21 has been commissioned a major. May they serve their country well.
