Charlie Donahue became the proud grandfather of Charles Henry Donahue 11, April 21. At his first introduction, the Judge said the youngster was making noises which sounded to him like "'99 up! '99 up!" but on inquiry the nurse said it was only the hiccups. His father is serving his country somewhere in the Pacific. Donny surprised everyone by resigning as a Justice of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court on April 26, after 20 years on the bench, 8 years as a Judge of the Superior Court and 12 years of the Supreme Court. An editorial in the Boston Herald of April 27 stated, "He has had a highly creditable career in both the Superior and Supreme Courts his six associates will regret the loss of a familiar, congenial personality." Everybody wishes him enjoyment of the leisure he has for some time coveted.
Rodney and Margaret Sanborn closed their house in Miami early in May and opened their summer place, Stonywall, at Ossipee, N. H. "Welcome" is on the mat for any and all '99ers.
K. and Mrs. Beal, after several months at Waterford, Conn., where K. was engaged in defense work for several months have returned to their home at Newbury Road, Bradford, N. H.
Clarkland was hard hit last winter and this spring by the prevailing lack of manpower and George had to put on his overalls and his hand to the plow.
It was a shock to learn of the death of Walter Eastman at Washington on April 22 after a week's illness from a heart attack, especially so soon after his fine appearance and interesting talk at the Roundup, March 4. Warren Kendall represented the class at the funeral. An article by him on Walter's career appears in another column of this issue.
"Weary" Wardle of Grand Mere, P. Q., is one of the newly elected Vice-Presidents of the Engineering Institute of Canada for the Province of Quebec.

Reunions at Hanover being barred this year made it necessary to hold our 45th at a place accessible to rail transportation. We were fortunate in securing fine accommodations at the New Ocean House, Swampscott, Mass., 25 minutes by train from Boston, for the weekend of June 24-25. Returns for attendance are encouraging. If you have been holding back on your commitment, please send it along as soon as possible. It is hoped that few, if any, will have to miss this great occasion.
Following a request of the Secretary of the College that classes which would normally have reunions this year, organize now because of no Hanover meetings, the executive committee, pursuant to authority delegated by the representative group at the Roundup in March, has named the secretary and treasurer, whose names appear at the head of this column. P. Winchester has done such outstanding work as class agent that he was drafted to continue in that office for the next five years.
