Naval Opportunities
March 1943

THE NAVY DEPARTMENT has announced that there are opportunities for commissions in a number of branches of the U. S. Navy for qualified men. In Naval aviation, administrative officers between the ages of 27 years and 42 years, with an executive background in business, are needed to relieve flying personnel at Air Bases. Although a college degree is desired, in some cases two years of college will be accepted for men who possess ten years of outstanding business or professional accomplishments. Men under 39 years of age may apply for sea duty as general duty officers—armed guards, navigators, or communications officers. Applicants must meet the same qualifications as those required of administrative officers in aviation.

Well-trained and experienced graduate engineers can be used in various departments of the Navy, while the construction battalions of the Civil Engineer Corps also have need for men who may not have a technical degree, but who have had at least ten years' experience in the field of heavy construction work in a supervisory capacity. The age limit for Naval engineers is 50 years. All applicants must meet Naval physical requirements. Further information can be obtained at the nearest Naval Recruiting Station, and applications should be made to the Office of Naval Procurement, 33 Pine Street, New York City.
