Walter S. Sullivan—our "Sully"—spent the summer with members of his family in Boonton, N. J., where he enjoys seclusion upon his farm, with no excitement, he says, "except when the bull gets out and invades a neighbor's pasture." He has five children (most of them married)—four daughters, and a sonWalter S. Jr., the youngest of the family, a graduate of Yale, who has served in the Navy during the war. There are seven grandchildren. Mrs. Sullivan had two of their grandchildren visiting them during the summer, and their youngest daughter Nancy attended a painting school in Kennebunk, Me,

"Moreland," historic estate of the Wheatley family in Bethesda, Md., passed into the hands of realtors last summer for development purposes. For many years this interesting old estate had been owned and occupied by the Wheatley family, having originally been purchased as a site of a summer home for his family of eight children by Samuel E. Wheatley, father of Mrs. Marion Wheatley Veazey, widow of Albin B. Veazey ("Joe" Veazey), of our class. Here Mr. Wheatley built an eighteen-room mansion at the top of a wooded hill. In those days it was considered far out in the country. The children roamed the fields of adjoining farms hunting for mushrooms, and went to bed early. Upon Mr. Wheatley's death in 1900 the summer home became a year-round residence. It was here that "Joe" Veazey, after he married Miss Wheatley, lived for many years. Not long ago Mrs. Veazey and her sister, Mrs. Francis W. Borden, reserved a portion of the estate for their own occupancy, upon which they built a charming house on Marion St., which won the Architectual Award for the year. It is of Williamsburg design set amidst huge oak trees. Here they now reside.

Our class notes in the February, 1944, issue briefly referred to a Memorial to David Blakely which Frank Reynolds made a short time before his death. We now learn that in 1943 Frank gave to the Hartford (Conn.) Hospital $2,100 for a memorial' room in the new hospital building, to be marked by a tablet hung in the room bearing the following inscription:

In Memory of David Newton Blakely, M.D. 1867-1942

"One of the Lord's Dependables." Given by Frank J. Reynolds

The tablet has been made but not .yet hung, as the plan is to dedicate all tablets in the new building at one time.

We now have twenty-two living members, twenty of whom are subscribers to the ALUMNI .MAGAZINE. In addition there are seven subscriptions from families of deceased classmates. Last year there were twenty-six living members and twenty-three subscribers, also two subscriptions from families of deceased classmates, a total of twenty-five as compared with twenty-seven subscriptions this year.
