DARTMOUTH'S FAMOUS COLLECTION of material on Daniel Webster has been augmented through the gift to the College of Websteriana gathered by the late Edwin A. Bayley, secretary of the Class of 1885. The collection was presented the College by Mr. Bayley's daughter, Mrs. Edwin P. Buchanan of Beverly, Mass.
Among the valuable items comprising the gift are 158 engravings of Dartmouth's famous early graduate, some of them folio size and thirty-nine of them framed. There are also eight oil paintings of Webster, nine daguerreotypes, a miniature by Sarah Goodridge, three bronzes, photographs, and other important Webster material.
Dartmouth's collection of Websteriana is believed to be the most complete and finest in existence.
