Reunion in India
December 1944

Two Dartmouth men of the classes of 1938 and 1939 had an unexpected reunion in India during the course of their war duties when Lieutenant Rodger S. Trump '38, USNR, found that the officer boarding his ship to receive the cargo of Army supplies it was carrying was "Jay" Diffenbaugh '39, Captain in the Army Air Corps.

Lieutenant Trump was serving at the time as commander of the Navy gun crew on the merchant vessel which had delivered cargoes of vital war supplies in the Mediterranean area, India and Australia, often under enemy fire.

Before being commissioned in the Navy in 1942, the lieutenant was associated with the law firm of Bender, Trump and Mclntyre in Milwaukee. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan law school.
