Five Generations

On his matriculation with the Class of 196 a, John Leverett Merrill will be the fifth generation of Merrills to attend Dartmouth. In 1828, Abel Kimball Merrill graduated from Dartmouth; his son, John Leverett Merrill was a member of the class of 1856, and his son, Charles Clarkson Merrill, graduated in 1894. Charles' son, John Leverett Merrill, was a member of the Class of 1932, and John Leverett Merrill Jr. has already been registered for the Class of 1962.
