I was glancing over the list of non-graduates of our class the other day and wished they could all have finished along with us, Bob Goddell, Austin Goodwin, "Tad" Merrill, and the others. Especially did I wish this for two men and I think every man in 'O2 will agree that when we lost "Fat" Sawyer and Bob Leach our esprit de corps was lowered many per cent. As the old song goes, "They were jolly good fellows and nobody will deny." In fact,, as I look back we as a class distinctly lacked that spontaneous sparkle that those boys had.

Poor Fat Sawyer we lost way back in 1933 but he was always the same jolly figure at all our reunions and introduced as the Mayor of Franklin, N. H. and this is Bob Leach's home postoffice now.

Bob Leach went to work in the Glenwood Range Cos. at Taunton, Mass. when he left Dartmouth in 1900 and was sales manager from 1905 to 1918 and Treasurer 1918 to 1941 when he retired from active duty but continued as Chairman of the Board of Directors. His older son, Walker, born in 1901, took his place as treasurer and his second son Malcolm became president. Bob has a daughter born in 1915 and eight grandchildren, the oldest Robert Milton and, whom he expects to see in the service soon.

When Bob retired he took up residence in New Hampshire and now lives on a beautiful point in Webster Lake doing fishing, hunting, and farming.
