ADDITIONS TO COLLEGE endowments through Class Memorial Fund gifts should reach a new high this year. The current season, which will extend from September 1 to January 1, has already pro- duced 16,830 as of October 12 and is just now reaching full activity. By present indications these funds should be increased by at least 130,00 before January 1, and by next June they should have considerably exceeded the $41,000 added to them last year.
"Dutch" Bausher's campaign in 1921 is showing accelerating progress and should achieve its objective of exceeding the $25,000 given to the College by 1919. Bill Bullen '22 will have his campaign moving shortly, and Jules Rippel '23 has already made significant gains toward his $50,000 goal. Both 1924 and 1925 are expected to have results to report before the fall months are over. In the classes beyond their 25th reunion, 1914 and 1916 have received large gifts, while among the later classes 1927, under Gus Cummings, has deposited gifts that more than triple their previous total of $542.
The Memorial Fund program, while it originated for classes approaching their 25th reunion, is developing strength among earlier classes as well. John H. Hinman has just accepted the chairmanship of a fund committee for the Class of 1908, while Harold Hinman '10 and Basil O'Connor 'l2 are working on similar programs for their classes. The vitality of this memorial fund idea indicates that it is destined to be a major factor in the College endowment.
