Jack Reeder '25, formerly a Lieutenant Commander in the Navy and a vice president of the advertising firm of Young & Rubicam, is now general manager, vice president and a director of Walt Disney Productions in Burbank, Cal.
Jack was born in Toledo, Ohio, on April 29, 1903, and graduated from Toledo Scott High School. At Dartmouth he was a member of Psi CJpsilon, Casque & Gauntlet, and won his letter in football.
After graduating in 1925, he joined the U. S. Advertising Agency in Toledo as a copywriter. Two years later he went to Campbell-Ewald in Detroit where he was account executive on the General Motors institutional advertising. In 1933 he became advertising manager of Cadillac, one of the youngest men ever to hold such a job in the industry.
In 1934 Jack became manager of the Detroit office of the Young & Rubicam advertising agency and four years later moved to New York as vice president and manager of the contact department. Shortly after Pearl Harbor, he became Officer in Charge of the U. S. Navy Recruiting Bureau with the rank of Lieutenant Commander. When recruiting was ended in 1943, he returned to Young & Rubicam.
Jack was married in Rollins Chapel on July 11, 1941. He has taken a leading part in Dartmouth activities—particularly the Alumni Fund and the Dartmouth Club of New York.
