THE CLASS OF 1924 gave a big push to the rapidly growing Memorial Fund program by presenting an initial sum of $3,000 to the College at an informal gathering in President Dickey's office on November 18. In accepting the gift the President said: "This is the first gift which I have received on behalf of the College and I trust that it will be the first of a great many. I am very glad to accept this gift from the Class of 1964, and it seems to me that we can all be glad together for Dartmouth men are not only givers but also the receivers of gifts to the College, and for that reason we can be mutually grateful to each other."
There were thirty members of the class m Hanover for the Cornell game, and most of them succeeded in staying for the presentation on Sunday morning. James T. White introduced the members of the class to President Dickey, and Richard A. Henry made the presentation, stressing the importance which the class attached to the project and their confidence in achieving a significant total by the Twenty-fifth Reunion.
After the Memorial Fund presentation members of the class gathered around the big Trustees' table in the President's office for a discussion of current College plans regarding admissions, reunions, and Memorial Funds with a few of the College officers.
