THREE ROUND DOZENS of native and neigh boring burghers met at the University Club of Rochester on Dartmouth Night to commemorate the occasion in the normal manner. After dinner, Clarence McKay '93 J. D. Brown '97, and H. W. Closs '01, illustrated by anecdotes how under different presidential administrations, the good round figure of 500, mentioned occasionally in "Eleazar Wheelock," played a part in crystallizing traditions. George Salyer '29, spoke briefly but pointedly of the virtues of the Class of 1929 which produced our new President. Frank Hutchins '22, read a Dartmouth Night telegram to the club from President Dickey, and Clark Weymouth '26, read in his best platform manner excerpts from the "Bulletin" describing President Dickey's inaugural.
A new slate of officers for the Dartmouth Club of Rochester was elected, comprising the following: President—Harry Holmlund '24, Vice President—Bob Long '27, Treasurer- Harlan Miller '24, Secretary—Joe Golan '30.
The evening closed with songs led by Sid Backus '11, aided by Ken Knapp '11, as his pitch pipe, and abetted by Zach Taylor '18, as his peripatetic minstrel who made sure that the rafters rang in all corners of the hall.
