A PREVIEW OF PEACETIME possibilities in two fields of science and literature are offered in the lead articles this month together with the customary inspiring war records of Dartmouth men.
In a discussion and brief history of RadioWaves and Radar, Prof. Gordon Ferrie Hull Jr. '33 of the Physics Department suggests various ways in which these war-developed "weapons" will become useful "tools" in the peace.
A group of verses by five of Dartmouth's fighting poets, chosen and commented on by Edward McD. Fritz '40 in. the second article, Sounds from Battle, proves that war hasn't dulled the poetic spirit and promises a sizable representation of Dartmouth alumni in the future book catalogues of publishing houses.

The Cover
A familiar matriculation scene, photographed in the Faculty Room by David Pierce, provides this month's cover picture. The '49er having his matriculation blank signed by President Hopkins is Philip A. Johnson of Walpole, Mass., nephew of Edwin P. Fairbanks '23, Westboro, Mass.
