Part o£ the credit for discovering the hideout of a fleet of Jap "suicide boats" that were to be used to sink American craft in Lingayen Gulf has been given to Lt. Nelson W. Craw '42, skipper of an LCI, by a newspaper correspondent. The Japs had concealed 22 boats, 18 feet long and equipped to carry two depth charges and two spares, in a base that the rapid advance of the American forces made untenable before the "suicide" fleet could move to attack.
Lieutenant Craw enlisted in the Navy in 1942 upon his graduation from Dartmouth.
