SUMMER STUDIES
MARCH 1965

"Intense" is the word being used to describe a number of the courses listed in the newly published 1965 Summer Term Bulletin. Would you like to speak French, German, or Spanish in just eight weeks? Language courses, organic chemistry, calculus, a study of composers and musical media, and many others are being geared to utilize the specially arranged eight week Summer Term to provide challenges that are not only "intense" (the word belongs to The Dartmouth's Summer Term specialist) but also very rewarding educational experiences for the good student. Some 53 courses in 23 academic departments are available in all. Descriptive bulletins and application forms are available upon request from Dean of Summer Programs, Box 833, Hanover, N. H.

The Dean himself, Dr. Waldo Chamberlin, reports that inquiries and requests for bulletins are up some 26 percent over the previous year. Last year's enrollment of 377 was about 80 students higher than the first year, and the College looks for even more Summer Term enrollees this June. If the 1508 inquiries as of February 20 can be regarded as a positive omen, enrollment should be up.

Enrollment figures for the 1965 Alumni College continue to rise too. The most recent count shows some 180 alumni and wives are formally registered. Because of anticipated attrition, registrations are still being accepted by the Alumni College director, J. Michael McGean '49.
