DARTMOUTH'S ANNUAL CONCERT SERIES will open on November 15 with the Metropolitan Opera Company's presentation of Verdi's "II Trovatore" and will also include Artur Rubinstein, pianist; Christopher Lynch, tenor protege of John McCormack; the Rochester Symphony Orchestra; and Zino Franescatti, violinist.
Because of the inadequate seating capacity of Webster Hall, 300 applications for season tickets were turned back last season and an even greater demand is expected this year. As a partial remedy, the Rochester Symphony will give an extra afternoon concert on December 14, and season subscribers will take their choice between the opera and Rubinstein, thus making available some tickets for the single concerts.
