LAST MONTH we presented a profile of Dartmouth's new Dean of Freshmen; in this issue we print a companion profile of Albert I. Dickerson '30, the new Director of Admissions, who for many years has been one of the main cogs in the College's administrative machinery. Written by James L. Farley '42, our assistant editor, the profile will be found on Page 13.

With the sudden death of Jeff Tesreau in September, a Dartmouth coaching era came to an end. A reminiscent tribute to the Green baseball coach, starting on Page 22, has been written by Hockey Coach Eddie Jeremiah '30, who played baseball under Jeff and has been his coaching assistant and office mate.

As something of a November tradition, this issue contains a summary of the annual financial report presented to the Dartmouth Trustees by Treasurer Halsey C. Edgerton '06. It begins on Page 17. President Dickey's brief Convocation Address, delivered at the exercises Opening Dartmouth's 178 th year, will be found on Page 15.
