Lt. Col. Frank B. Wallis '25, a lawyer of Beverly, Mass., was in the front-page headlines when he addressed the court at the opening of the trial of the Nazi war lords in Nuremberg, Germany. He opened the American case and carried the prosecution through the year 1939.
Lt. Col. Wallis was on duty in Washington when he was given short notice to fly to Germany and join the staff of Supreme Court Justice Robert H. Jackson for one of the greatest legal events in history.
Frank Shea '25, former Assistant U. S. Attorney General in Washington, was also on Justice Jackson's staff.
After graduating in 1925, Lt. Col.Wallis went to Harvard Law Schoolfrom which he graduated in 1928.Thereafter he practiced law in Bostonand had a law office there until he wentinto the Army. This year, as attorneyfor the International Hydro ElectricCompany, he obtained a final verdict of13 million dollars against the parentcompany, International Paper—the largest award ever made by the Massachusetts courts. At one time he was head ofthe Red Cross in Beverly. He has nowreturned to the United States and liveswith his wife at 5 Quincy Park, Beverly.
