Trainee Killed

CLARENCE P. EDMUNDS, 20, of Fort Fairfield. Maine, V-12 engineering student at the Thayer School, was killed, and his companion Robert E. DeForest '49, 19, of Burlington, Vt., a pre-medical student, was seriously injured January 5, when the car in which they were riding crashed into an oil truck on a curve of the highway.

Both members of the Dartmouth ski team, they were on their way to Stowe, Vt., to get in some skiing practice over the week end, when the accident occurred. DeForest has had a rapid recovery after being taken to the Burlington hospital.
