The Princeton Tiger, newly crowned Big Three champion, spoiled Dartmouth's bid to end its 1947 football season on a victorious note by virtue of two points-aftertouchdown, winning the November 22 finale in Palmer Stadium, 14-12. After spotting Princeton a 14-0 lead, the Big Green rallied in the fourth quarter largely on the strength of Quarterback Joe Sullivan's passes, but Herb Carey's educated toe failed to kick the extra points for the first time this season. Sullivan's passes were caught in the end zone by Bill Felton and Hal Fitkin. It was Princeton's first win over the Indians since 1940.
