Semester Marks
May 1947

BREAKING a long-established precedent, the twenty-two Dartmouth fraternities bettered the non-fraternity men in overall scholastic averages compiled during the first semester. The fraternities' average was 2.459 as opposed to the independents' 2-339.

The overall college average was a shade better than the non-fraternity average with a mark of 2.398. This mark was the second highest average in the history of Dartmouth, being eclipsed only by the first semester marks in 1932 when the campus average was 2.430.
