COMPLETE PLANS for Dartmouth's 178 th Commencement exercises, June 1315, have been announced by Sidney C. Hayward '26, Secretary of the College. Following last year's procedure, Commencement and Baccalaureate Exercises will be combined and will be held at 11 a.m., Sunday, June 15, in the Bema, weather permitting.
Commencement weekend will get under way Friday, June 13, at 4 p.m., when the traditional Class Day exercises will be held on the campus. An outdoor concert by the Dartmouth Band at 7.30 on the College Green, a reception by President and Mrs. Dickey for seniors, alumni, faculty and their guests at 8.30, a Glee Club concert at g.30 in Webster Hall, and the Senior Ball at 10 in the Alumni Gymnasium round out the first day's events.
Saturday's program starts with a meeting of the General Association of Alumni at 11.go in Webster Hall, to which seniors and their fathers are invited. President Dickey will speak for the College, James A. Hamilton '22 of the 25-year Class for the alumni, William H. Ham '97 for the goyear Class; and Allen I. Bildner '47 for the seniors. Francis H. Horan '22, vicepresident of the General Association, will preside at the meeting.
Saturday afternoon Dartmouth will meet the University of Maryland in a baseball game on the Memorial Field diamond. The Band will gives its second performance that evening at 8, and the Dartmouth Players will present a comedy at 9 in Webster. Saturday afternoon at g the fraternities will hold alumni reunions.
In the event of rain, Class Day Exercises will be held in Webster Hall Friday afternoon, and if it is raining Sunday morning, Commencement and Baccalaureate will be postponed until the afternoon. If the weather still holds bad in the afternoon, the exercises will be held in Webster at 5 with overflow space in Rollins Chapel.
