APPOINTMENT OF three Dartmouth professors to serve as Divisional Chairmen for the next four years and of 29 others to serve as Departmental Chairmen for two-year periods was recently announced by President Dickey. All appointments will be effective as of July 1.

Francis Lane Childs '06, Winkley Professor of the Anglo-Saxon and English Language and Literature, will be chairman of the Division of the Humanities; Robert Addison McKennan '25, Professor of Sociology, will head the Division of the Social Sciences; and Roy Philip Forster, Assistant Professor of Zoology, will be chairman of the Division of Sciences.

Department chairman will be: Administration, Prof. Russell R. Larmon '19; Art and Archaeology, Prof. Churchill P. Lathrop; Biography, Prof. Donald Bartlett '24; Botany, Prof. Frederick S. Page '13; Chemistry, Prof. Andrew J. Scarlett '10; The Classics, Prof. Wm. Stuart Messer; Comparative Literature, Prof. Herbert F. West '22; Economics, Prof. William A. Carter '20; Education, Prof. George L. Scott '25; English, Prof. Anton A. Raven; Geography, Prof. Trevor Lloyd; and Geology, Prof. Richard E. Stoiber.
