THE 45TH REUNION of the Class of 1902 was held in Hanover June 20-22, 1947, and was voted by all present to have been absolutely the best reunion we have ever had. Out of 78 living graduates, 44 were present with five nongraduates, so we won the week's cup for percentage of attendance. We were especially proud to have two men with their wives journey all the way from California

—"Soap" Davis and "Henniker" Sanborn.Ben Riley and Arba Irvin came from the West, and Farwell direct from vacationing in Brazil. Twenty-seven wives came along and we enjoyed having them, especially Mrs. Pattrell who drove up all alone to be with us.

The good time started Friday afternoon with a long cocktail hour (4-6.30) at the Inn. Here we at first had to do a good bit of guessing, as we were not tagged and Farr had shaved off his whiskers, but soon we knew each other as of old. We were especially delighted to entertain three charming new 1902 wives—Mrs. Jim Huntington, Mrs. Frank .Moore and Mrs. DeAnguera.

Following the cocktail party we had a most pleasant dinner in the Hovey Grill of Thayer Hall, surrounded by the cheerful intriguing Eleazar Wheelock murals with their beautiful Indian maidens and thirsty young bucks. In the evening was President Dickey's reception at Baker Library and then general conversazione, a game of bridge and the Theta Delt poker game.

Saturday morning we had the class pictures with and without wives and the five class cattlemen (Ruggles, Riley, Keniston, Fletcher and Thompson) were taken separately. At noon the Alumni Luncheon was held in Thayer Hall, after which we adjourned to the lawn for the meeting of the Alumni Association. This was the most interesting meeting of this Association we had ever attended. We at last found out what the Association stood for and we had some real speeches worth listening to, especially that of Don Bailey Aldrich '17 who showed us the ideal for a future Dartmouth in a speech, the remembrance of which we will all cherish.

While the men were attending the Alumni Dinner, the wives were entertained at the house of Prof. Arthur Chivers, where Mrs. Chivers served one of her finest luncheons. Not only was her lovely home enjoyed by all but also her studio where she restores and decorates old trays and furniture.

Saturday afternoon at 5:30, we all gathered with our wives for a second cocktail party on the lawn behind the Inn and relaxingly got further acquainted. At 6:30 the class dinner was held in the Ski Hut. President Dorr was in the chair and we had as a special guest, Professor Hull who had joined Dartmouth in our time and had hurried back from the scientific meeting especially to join us. Speeches and reports followed and then our wives joined us to look at pictures taken in our College days, the picture of the members of the "Irish Village" being the piece de resistance.

Many later enjoyed the college play or stayed at the Inn to see and hear of Prof.Farwell's trip to Brazil the past winter.

Sunday we had no definite schedule but many leisurely breakfast parties and gatherings on the sun porch wound up a happy time.

To Louis and Ethel Dow and to Arthur and Helen Chivers, 1902 again extends its thanks for a grand reunion.
