We unfortunately caught one of the bad weather days of this unusually severe winter on Sunday, February 24, the date for the Glee Club Concert. Attendance was very definitely hurt by the weather. Those brave souls that did make it to the Longmeadow High School auditorium were rewarded by an outstanding performance by the boys under the excellent direction of Paul Zeller.
A reception was held at Storrowtown, which is a colonial vintage dining spot on the grounds of the Eastern States Exposition in West Springfield. Quite a few of those who attended the concert joined the Club officers and the members of the Concert Committee, headed by Chairman Don Hutchins '57, in getting acquainted with the members of the Glee Club. This was an informal and very enjoyable affair during which time there was more singing with just about everyone joining in. Mostly everyone then stayed for a delightful dinner at which the members of the Glee Club were the guests of our Club.
It goes without saying that we all enjoyed having the boys with us. We hope their stay in Springfield was enjoyable and we look forward to their next visit.
'"our "next Club affair will be our Annual Meeting which is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday evening, April 23, at the Long-meadow Country Club. John Meek '33, vice president of the College, will be our honored guest and speaker. Another highlight of this program will be the awarding of the Book Awards to the outstanding members of the junior class of the various local high schools.
