Helix, a novel by David Loughlin '43, has been published by Harper Brothers, and will be reviewed in a later issue.

Archaeology of Alkali Ridge, SoutheasternUtah, with a review of the prehistory of the Mesa Verde division of the San Juan and some observations on archaeological systematics, by John Otis Brew '28, has been published as vol. 21 of The Papers of the PeabodyMuseum of American Archaeology and. Ethnology, Harvard University. This volume of 345 Pages, plus several pages of very excellent plates, is also illustrated with many line drawings. The excavations upon which this report was based were carried on in three field seasons, 1931-1933, by the author. Thirteen sites were excavated and 234 rooms were cleared. All those interested in American archaeology will be grateful to the author for this scholarly volume.

A. S. Barnes if Company, New York has recently published a volume of 368 pages Manual of Boys' Club Operation—Boys' Clubs ofA merica." In a paragraph describing the "purpose" of this book it is stated "Its content is the result of a great deal of study and research by Edward W. Pastore of the National staff under the supervision of Walter M. Hall, Program Director." Mr. Pastore is a member of the class of 1931.

The Abington Plan, by Howard F. Mason '31, appears in the April issue of The Massachusetts Teacher.

Clifford H. Rich and Benjamin N. Rippe '34 are the authors of Tax Aspects of CommodityFutures Transactions with a BusinessPurpose, reprinted from the April-May issue of the Tax Law Review.

The March, number of Poultry Science contains an article by Arthur D. Holmes '06 and others entitled Vitamin C Content of Hens'Vital Organs after Long Continued AscorbicAcid Injections.

James M. O'Neill '07 is the author of TheSeparation of Church and State, reprinted from the June number of Commentary.

The June issue of Appalachia contains an article The A. M. C. Trail System, by Paul RJenks '94.

The Geology of the Mount WashingtonQuadrangle, New Hampshire, by Richard P. Goldthwait '33 and others has been published as a pamphlet of 56 pages by the New Hampshire Planning and Development Commission, Concord, New Hampshire.

The Transactions of the Atnerican Societyof Construction Engineers for 1947 contains a 3-page obituary notice of Charles Francis Chase '85.

I Speak For Thaddeus Stevens, a novel dealing with Stevens, a graduate of the College of the class of 1814, by Elsie Singmaster, has been published by Houghton Mifflin. The author secured considerable information for this book from the files relating to Stevens in the Archives Room of Baker Library.
