ON WEDNESDAY, May 21, Dartmouth alumni within reach of Boston once again enjoyed the pleasures of a Dartmouth evening at the Pops Concert in Symphony Hall. Approximately 1,400 of the Dartmouth brotherhood and their guests were in attendance and the affair was a large success for all. Suffice it to say here that the whole atmosphere of the evening was pervaded by that pleasant sense of "auld acquaintance" and orderly informality which is part of the charm of Dartmouth gatherings.

The program included a concerto for two pianos and the orchestra, featuring two very talented young pianists of Dartmouth background, the Misses Frances Reilly and Barbara Marden. Miss Reilly is the daughter of Walter B. Reilly 'll and Miss Marden is the daughter of one of our former Trustees, Philip S. Marden '94. Both the young ladies played with professional skill and appeared to be fully "at home" with the Boston Symphony, which is no small compliment!

Once again the College Glee Club from Hanover was with us, and as always their singing was both a joy and an inspiration. The intermissions included interesting specialty numbers arranged by Harry McDevitt '07, who also assisted with the program and the musical details of the evening. Our thanks, too, to Mort Hull '09 and the others who assisted Harry in these unusual and enjoyable deviations from the customary intermission experiences.

A great deal of effort is required to make this ambitious undertaking function as smoothly as it does, and much credit is due Dick Morton '36 and the many alumni who held themselves ready to assist as he called upon them.

This event still appears to be so well enjoyed by the alumni here about that already we are trying to make arrangements for a similar evening (middle of the week, latter part of May) next year; so be on the lookout for the announcements which will be forthcoming as soon as possible.
