Cramer Fellowships
July 1947

RICHARD W. YOUNG of Middle Village, N. Y., and Kirtland E. McCaleb of Stoneham, Mass., have been awarded R. Melville Cramer Fellowships for the year 1947-48. The awards, grants of $1,000 each, are annually given to Dartmouth graduates and others who have shown unusual ability in original laboratory investigation, especially in the field of genetics.

Young, who received the M.A. degree in chemistry here last month, will continue his graduate study in chemistry at Columbia University. McCaleb, a recipient of a Cramer Fellowship for the year 1946-47, has the unusual distinction of being awarded the honor for the second consecutive year, and will continue his graduate work in chemistry at the University of Wisconsin where he studied the past year.
