The winter sports captains for 1970-71 include: John Ryzewic, a 6-4 forward from New London, Conn., in basketball; Ken Davidson, from Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., in hockey; Justin Stanley, a junior from Winnetka, Ill., in squash; and swimming co-captains All-America butterfly ace Al Rheem from Denver and breaststroke standout Jack Dickard from Painesville, Ohio. ... Jeff Kosak is the winner of the Martha Phelan Award, voted by his teammates, for outstanding contribution to the hockey team .... Charlie Harding, offensive backfield and end coach in football for two seasons, has left Dartmouth to join the Virginia Tech staff. ... Findley Meislahn, captain and stroke of Princeton's 1964 heavyweight crew, will become Dartmouth's freshman crew coach in the fall, succeeding John Danford '69 who plans to enter business. ... An award in memory of A. D. (Dolly) Stark, Dartmouth basketball coach from 1928-62 and a major league baseball umpire for many years, will be awarded for the first time in 1970-71 to the outstanding member of the Dartmouth basketball team. . .. Jay Evans, assistant director of admis- sions, who is the guiding force of the Ledyard Boat Club, has been named to the U.S. Olympic Kayak and Canoe Committee. The event will be new to the Olympic Games in 1972 at Mu- nich, Germany. . . . Dartmouth's fresh- man teams in winter sports compiled a record of 54-20-1. The varsity teams during the winter were 43-50.
