THE FIRST COMPLETE performance of Handel's Messiah ever presented at Dartmouth was given in Webster Hall by the Handel Society chorus December 14 under the direction of Prof. A. Kunrad Kvam, chairman of the music department. The chorus of 90 was accompanied by a community orchestra of 60, with four professional soloists, Margaret Barnwell, Thelma Viol, Du Bose Robertson and John Emden, in the featured parts.

A special outdoor carol service by the College Glee Club was held in front of Baker Library on December 19 under the auspices of Palaeopitus.

Dr. John C. Schroeder, professor of pastoral theology at Yale Divinity School, was the guest preacher at the second of a series of College Services in Rollins Chapel, December 11. Music was by the College Glee Club, directed by Paul R. Zeller, with Prof. Maurice F. Longhurst as organist. The service was held in cooperation with the Church of Christ and St. Thomas Episcopal Church.
