Whistler's Dentist: This portrait of Dr. Isaac Davenport, painted by James McNeill Whistler, was donated to the Hood Museum of Art by Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Weil Jr. Weil is a member of the class of 1935. Speaking about Dr. Davenport and his brother, who was Whistler's personal dentist, the artist wrote, "their operating was just like the flutter of a butterfly in my mouth."
