THE DARTMOUTH CLUB OF BALTIMORE WAS LOOKING forward with gusto to the March 24 visit of Dean Neidlinger as this edition went to press. The Dean was to greet us at our Blackstone rendezvous and tell of things Hanoverian.
Our Ladies Night meeting in February was a decided success. Twenty couples attended, a slight increase over last year's showing, and all had a swell time. The program was arranged by President Bob Moyer '43, VicePresident Jack Buck '44, Treasurer Ed Pierce '41, and Howard Van Riper '38.
Our treasurer generously donated his phonograph for pre-prandial music, and pictures of the 1937 Winter Carnival were shown. After dinner Terpsichoreans held sway to some excellent piano strains by Chuck Bullock '3B.
The indisputable highlight of the affair, however, was the announcement of your correspondent's engagement to Miss Patricia Waters, who was making her debut at the Dartmouth Club. President Moyer outdid himself in procuring this timely scoop.
On February 25, Harold Mickey '38 led a group of alumni in interviewing 12 candidates for admission. Robert Hazard '29 was host in absentia and it is the opinion of the interviewing committee that group interviews are infinitely preferable to visiting individual homes.
A combination of fortuitous circumstances enabled us to nominate George Parkhurst '30 to a post on the Alumni Council. George recently came back to Baltimore after a stay in Washington, and we lost no time in giving him the nomination.
Activity for the current fiscal year is fast drawing to a close. Next month (May) we elect officers for the following year and then wind up '47-48 festivities with the outing in June.
