ANNOUNCEMENT WAS MADE last month by Harold G. Rugg '06, Assistant Librarian, of the receipt through the Friends of the Dartmouth Library of a copy of TheLyff of the Faders by Hieronymus (St. Jerome). In perfect condition, the book is the gift of Arthur L. Gale '27 and is probably the finest of the seven in existence in the United States. It was printed at Caxton's Press in Westminster by Wynkyn de Worde in 1495. The book is printed in black letter with many clear woodcut illustrations,
The College Library has also received from Miss Sylvia Clark of Derry, N. H., a collection of nine letters signed by John Greenleaf Whittier and a presentation copy from Whittier to Miss Clark of Frances Willard's Nineteen Beautiful Years. Miss Clark met the poet when she was a young girl, and he gave the book to her at that time. Accompanying the Whittier items is a letter from John Boyle O'Reilly.
