AFTER MONTHS' DELAY, we finally managed to get together on March 2, 1948, for an evening at the house of Marque Richard '32 which is a very nice little Japanese house directly behind the Imperial University in the northern part of this dusty—and of course pretty well destroyed—city. Although we could not get all the Dartmouth men in Tokyo or in Japan, we had a very nice—quiet and intellectual, mind you—evening.

There was a slight mix-up because there are 14 persons in the Chinese Mission by the same name, and we got a Columbia man before we could get hold of Dr. Wen-tsao Wu '25 (fortunately we managed to. keep the C-man out of the snapshot).

We hope this will become the beginning of more frequent gatherings and a more permanent organization of a Dartmouth Club here. Those present were: Kyosuke Fukuda '29, H. F. Clippinger '39, David L. Sills '42 and yours truly beside the above-mentioned two. We missed Major Imboden of the Press Section of CI&E GHQ, George Goercke, Lawrence Hewes, the Fujiyama Brothers and Y. Hirota who might have been there. There are a few others in other parts of Japan and Korea, and if there are any more in the neighborhood that we don't know about, we would like to hear from them.

THE BIG GREEN IN JAPAN: With the aid of this smiling sextet, an active Dartmouth Alumni Club may be formed in Tokyo. On March 2, Marque Richard '32, second from left, played host at his home, which is located directly behind the Imperial University in the northern part of Tokyo, to the men shown above. They are, left to right, Kyosuke Fukuda '30, Host Richard, David L. Sills '42, Dr. Wen-tsao Wu '25, H. F. Clippinger '39, and Takanobu Mitsui '43.
