The Dartmouth Club of Hawaii was reorganized in October, 1947, and elections were held the following month to elect officers. John Coonley '23 was elected president, Richard King '42 vice president and WilliamRolph '45 secretary-treasurer. We meet the first Thursday of each month at the Pacific Club and to date there has been a good turnout at every meeting. Recently all applicants interested in enrolling at Dartmouth were guests of the Club, and films from Dartmouth were shown and enjoyed by all. When the final selections were made, the three boys, Thomas Collins, Gordon Kay, and Paul Loo and the fathers were guests at May meeting of the Club and again films were shown.

Judge Frank McLaughlin '30 has been heading the Hopkins Center drive in Hawaii and is doing a good job.

The following members of the local club have recently been to the mainland on business trips or on vacations: John Coonley '23, Richard King '42, Charles Campbell '4O, DonChapman '2B, M. B. Cowden '32, John Wolfe '46 and Bill Nielson, who has gone to Guam. The following Dartmouth men have been teaching at Punahou Academy during the past year and have wonderful records: Kenneth Coyne '47 assisted in coaching the track teams which won the local high school championship; Jim Doole '45 coached the basketball teams to the local championship and also coached the baseball team which took second place—Jim is now pitching for one of the local senior league teams and has yet to lose a game; Ed Lane-Reticker '46 is assisting in all sports it seems and is doing very well; RolandHiggins '43 coached the swimming team to the local championship and has entered several of his swimmers in the AAU meets. All four of these boys teach at Punahou as well as their duties in the athletic field. Ed (Fitz)Donnell '35 has carried off honors in a recent bridge tournament in Honolulu. Recent visitors and additions to the Club are as follows: Russell Johnson 'l2, who was vacationing in the Islands; Major Walter Nolan '13; Andrew Morgan '42, and Bill Miller '49.

Robert (Believe It or Not) Ripley was a recent visitors in Honolulu, and a luncheon was held for him at the Outrigger Canoe Club through the efforts of Dr. HastingsWalker 'si. It is planned to hold a picnic sometime the later part of July at the beach home of Cline Mann '45, who has kindly volunteered us the use of his home. Any Dartmouth man in Honolulu should get in touch with the Secretary to check on the date of the affair.

Until next time I'll sign off, but you'll be hearing from this Club regularly in the future.
