Bodwell, E. /.—As noted in May issue, "Bod" passed away on March 19, 1941. See Necrology for more information. We all feel the loss especially the Secretary whose duty it has been these late years to keep in touch with the men. Bod's ready response has paid large dividends on any effort expended. It has in fact been a two way affair bringing much satisfaction to this end, although we have met but once since we separated in June 1888. We have been able to record in the MAGAZINE only the high points of Bod's thinking, but it's all worth recording. He was a clear thinker to the end. A Vermonter in truth.
Hardy, George F.—lt's always a pleasure to get a line from Geo. Hardy, sometimes there are several of them. He sure, in his 53 years of busy life, has learned to separate the wheat from the chaff.
Lougee, W. W—Thanks to Herbert Gage 'B7 I secured a copy of The ColbyAlu?nnus Feb. issue, and noted with pleasure an article about Richard Lougee Dart '27, and his preparation and work. He is now Prof, of Geology at Colby.
I can make only a brief mention of it, but the people at Colby now consider Doc's older son a little ahead of any other man in N. E. or perhaps in the entire country as a Geologist and inspiring teacher. He has roamed over much of this earth to get the facts, developed the theory and learn how to present it. I am willing to give credit in part to his rearing as a son of 'BB and much more to our Doc & Mrs. Lougee of 135 Summer St., Maiden, Mass. Pattee, Fred I,.—still professing at Rollins College. Has found what Ponce-de- Leon long sought, but it was in his own back yard at Coronado Beach.
Williams, Wendell—pleased the Cate family a few days ago by making us a call. Wendell looks exceedingly well although he says he has to move slowly. Still expects to spend part of the summer at the Lake Placid Club.
The Secretary—-was in Hanover two days last week. He went with the determination to keep his eyes open, his ears closed and his mouth shut. He thinks he noted a decided change in the student body. A grim determination seemed to dog every students foot steps as he crossed the campus.
They know there is war.
After June 30th the Sec. may be found at Ocean Point, Maine. Tel., when reaching Wiscasset—Boothbay Harbor 263-M5 and the lobsters will be ready to serve you on arrival.
