ALL THE BEST IN SCANDINAVIA,
April 1949 Carin AF Robson West.

by Syd-ney Clark ' 12. Dodd, Mead & Cos., 1949; 41)pages; $4.

Exactly a year ago, with Spring around the corner, I took off for Stockholm on the Scandinavian Airlines, my first visit "home" in twelve years. To read Sydney Clark's book on Scandinavia just published was like taking that trip all over again. What a fabulous wealth of information (and always correct even to the exact nuances)! What a charming, tempting way Mr. Clark has in describing his own experiences or some historical fact, or simply just something that is 100% Scandinavian!

I even learned that Dartmouth College Library possessed a photostatic copy of the "one most valued book in the world," the CodexArgenteus, the only book in pure Gothic, "being the four Gospels written by fifth-century scribes in an alphabet which Bishop Ulfilas of Prague invented." The original is in a fire and burglar-proof vault in Uppsala.

For any potential traveller to the north countries my advice is to buy, carry, and read this marvelous book filled on every page with every conceivable kind of information. You will use it daily and get to know Scandinavia as you never dreamed possible.
