Revised Calendar

A REVISED College calendar providing for a two-day athletic holiday in October and a longer spring vacation will go into effect in the fall. It marks a return to Dartmouth's calendar of pre-war years. Members of the Class of 1953 will register for freshman week September 13. Upperclassmen register September 20 and classes begin the next day. Harvard weekend will be an official holiday, with classes ending Thursday, October 20 and resuming Monday, October 24. The Thanksgiving recess begins Tuesday, November 22 and ends Monday, November 28, while the Christmas vacation extends from Saturday, December 17 until Wednesday, January 4.

The second semester opens Monday, February 6, and the new two-week spring vacation will be from Saturday, March 25 until Monday, April 10. Commencement weekend will be June 9 to 11 and class reunions will be held on the following weekend, June 16-18, for all but the 25th, 50th and older classes which hold reunions Commencement weekend.
